Another Goat Arrives
When you have one goat, it isn’t long before another goat arrives. Wade Wilson the wether (male goat that has been neutered) needed a friend as all goats do. They are herd animals and are sad when alone. Wade is a pet goat and his job is to keep our dairy goats company. We still do not have any dairy goats but that was about to change!
Bottle Baby
When another goat arrives, they need time to settle in. Nessa, short for Vanessa, is a young Nubian doeling who is still drinking milk. Goats this young are called bottle babies. Wade was weaned when we got him because he is older. I am finding bottle feeding harder than I thought. Baby goats are very picky about the type of nipple and she is missing her herd. I can’t wait for Amazon to get here with a more suitable bottle nipple.
And yes, there are now TWO goats in my mudroom. I thought when I got the first goat that the barn would be done faster!
